ATHISS— SPENCER | PART 2
- 3 downloads
- Version 1.0.0
Guys, you know Spencer has responded now, and honestly, he gave one of the most ridiculous responses I’ve seen. I’m going to break down exactly what is so ridiculous about it. He sent me a long message, and I’m going to go through it piece by piece. First of all: everything that was released — including things that had already been publicly released — was sold by you. For example, the last few maps you sold were already released, and then suddenly you started selling them. That’s pretty suspicious, isn’t it? Naboo was released, then you sold it. The SFC map was released, then you sold it. The Kessel map was released, then you sold it. The Athiss map was released, then you sold it. Alderaan was released, then you sold it. Hello? Isn’t that already a pretty strange coincidence, if nothing else? Now, Spencer said the following about the Venator — and I’m quoting him directly: I looked into this myself, and based on what I found, that statement does not add up. First, I checked who actually created this Venator. The person who created the Venator is not even in the group Spencer mentioned. On top of that, according to the information I found, this Venator was only created in 2023. Spencer, stop making claims that don’t line up with the evidence. In Part 1, we already established that you were selling content that had previously been released. Now we have information that, at least from what I could verify, suggests that this Venator did not come from the group you mentioned and that the timeline you gave does not match the creation date. I also checked both Venators that I released. The other Venator was only created in 2021, and it was also created by a different user. I’m censoring their usernames here because Spencer has a habit of throwing people’s names around in an attempt to find someone who will confirm his version of events. I don’t want to drag those people into this. Also, it’s news to me that Spencer considers his Venator a “map.” From what I can tell, it would be more accurate to describe it as an asset. So once again, there are multiple things here that simply don’t line up with what Spencer is claiming. Now that we’ve established that Spencer’s claim about having the rights to these Venators since 2020 doesn’t add up, let’s move on to the second point: Kessel. Spencer says — and I’m quoting him again: I couldn’t find any evidence that this XY actually created the map or that the map originated from them. It seems like another name being mentioned without anything substantial to back up the claim. So at this point, we know that Spencer likes to name people who are supposedly connected to or able to back up his claims. From my perspective, I find that pretty ridiculous. He supposedly bought this map from someone years ago, and now that the map has been released, he is selling it. Sounds like a great business idea, right? You’re a hero. To be fair, though, I cannot definitively prove every part of this claim, so I’m not going to pretend that I can. What I can say is that, based on what I checked, XY did not create this map. I looked at the meshes and compared the assets, and they do not appear to originate from that person. So once again, the name being mentioned does not automatically prove ownership or prove that the map actually came from that person. This is about the SFC map, which was released and then sold by Spencer. I quote: Here, however, I cannot properly prove everything I’m saying, so I want to make that clear from the beginning. I can only partially challenge your statement. Spencer, you constantly mention other people’s names when trying to justify where your maps came from, but suddenly you don’t mention anyone here. To my knowledge, you did not actually purchase the resale rights in the way you claim. However, I want to ask everyone not to focus too heavily on this specific point, because I cannot disprove it properly — at least not yet. The map consists of assets from multiple different people, which makes the situation more complicated. But this actually made me think of something else: Don’t you tell other people or even other studios that they are not allowed to sell certain things because the meshes belong to you? If that is the case, then isn’t this a form of double standard? You are selling meshes from other people as part of a map, even though you apparently do not have the rights to those meshes yourself. So we now have three points here. One of them has already been completely disproven. Spencer also mentions several other maps where he supposedly has the rights from person X/Y. To avoid making this even longer, I checked what I could verify by looking at the meshes, checking who created them, whether those creators are on the relevant Discord server, and looking at the other assets used in the maps. 1. Rhen VarSpencer claims that he got Rhen Var from person X/Y. I cannot confirm or disprove that claim. However, I can confirm that, based on what I found, Spencer most likely does have the rights to the assets used there. For that, I apologize, and I also want to thank Makomami’s Republic for making their asset pack open source for the STAR WARS Genre community. I acknowledge that I made a mistake here, and I’m sorry for making a claim that I could not properly substantiate. As I said before, I make mistakes too. 2. The Coruscant MapHonestly, there are far too many different Coruscant maps, and everyone seems to have different rights to different versions. There are so many variations that I cannot determine with certainty who actually owns which version. Because of that, this point is difficult to establish. What I can say is that, in my opinion, this Coruscant map is not worth the price being asked for it. Personally, I would recommend a maximum price of around $12 USD, if anything, because this map is extremely old. And once again, Spencer mentions person X/Y as the supposed source of the map. From my perspective, I would not consider this person particularly trustworthy, especially because you appear to be friends with them. I could just as easily name 20 people and claim that all of them created this map. That alone wouldn’t prove anything. As far as I know, this map doesn’t even contain any particularly new meshes. It is extremely old. So having this map listed for $70 USD for years, or $30 USD with the discount, raises another question for me: Is that really a fair price for everyone? Then you made this statement: So where exactly am I completely wrong? Because from my perspective, you are making yourself look ridiculous here. Unless you can provide an actual legal license, I’m going to say that you do not have the legal rights you are claiming to have. If you can provide a legitimate license proving those rights, then I will take that into consideration and stop making that particular claim. But a lot of what you are saying simply does not make sense to me. You mention other people’s names even when they apparently have nothing to do with the map. Then, suddenly, you don’t mention anyone when it comes to the SFC map. You claim that you purchased rights in 2020, even though the Venator asset you are selling for $20 USD appears to have been created in 2021, while the other Venator was created in 2023. The people who created those assets, as far as I know, do not appear to have any connection with you, despite your claim that the Venator came from DarkAmarok’s group. You keep saying that you have the rights, but you are not actually showing what rights you have. And by “rights,” I mean actual legal rights — for example, a legitimate license that allows you to sell Star Wars-related content, even if it is fan-made. If you cannot provide anything demonstrating that you actually have those legal rights, then I don’t think simply saying “I own the rights” proves anything. That is the issue I have with your argument. Kaller Map Your statement regarding the Kaller map: This explanation honestly raises even more questions for me. You claim that you have both a quality assurance team and a copyright team, and that you go through every map to make sure it is not stolen. So my first question is: The map contained your assets — did that make you assume that the map itself was legitimate and had not already been released or taken from someone else? And what about Naboo, for example? You removed the Naboo map, but you don't mention that case at all in your explanation. If your copyright team really checks every map before it is sold, how did something like this get through that process in the first place? Then there is the part where you say that you lost more than $100 USD because you bought the map from someone who allegedly scammed you. Of course, I understand that if you want to resell something legitimately, you may need to purchase the appropriate resale rights. That is not what I am criticizing. What I find questionable is that you have a supposed copyright team whose purpose is to prevent exactly these situations, yet you still ended up buying something that you later determined was illegitimate. You have a lot of money and resources. So how is it that you apparently cannot find people who can properly verify these things before you spend $100+ on a map? I personally know around 20 people who could probably tell you very quickly whether something has already been released, whether it is being sold somewhere else, or whether there are questions surrounding its ownership. So what exactly is this copyright team checking? And honestly, I don't think it matters whether someone actually purchased the map or not. It's basically the same as someone selling you a PS5 and you later finding out that it isn't actually an original PS5. The fact that nobody else bought it doesn't suddenly make the product legitimate. The same principle applies here. If your team is supposedly checking every map before it is sold, then that verification should determine whether the map has already been released and whether the seller actually has the rights to sell it. That's why your explanation about Kaller doesn't really answer the issue for me. It raises another question instead: if you already have a copyright team and a quality assurance team, why did this situation happen in the first place? I quote Spencer: You clearly don't want the STAR WARS Genre to change cause if you had you'd see the amount of effort I have and had previously been going through to try and squash asseting & doxxing and until you came around we basically had it completely squashed and done. My pricing on products is also MORE THAN FAIR. My entire motivation to go into selling was because developers were charging $150 USD per morph mesh, I did this originally to give people lower pricing for complete and custom packs. If you're able to link me ANY MAP that's stolen with proof I'm more than happy to take it down. To change the STAR WARS Genre, you need influence and power. I don’t have that, and I don’t want it either. Apparently, you put a lot of effort into preventing releases and doxxing because it AFFECTS YOU. However, I don’t really see where you are trying to improve the genre. Why not start by organizing group events, for example? That could be a good idea where different groups could work together. Even if it might sound a little excessive, you could, for example, organize a tournament where the prize is a free bundle. The winning group could receive the free bundle, and then you could do something similar every month. You could also offer other things, such as sponsorships. In general, I think things should not be sponsored simply because of the money, but because of the gameplay and the games that have an impact on the genre. For example, Age of Rebellion, if that is the correct name, or other groups as well. This is not meant as an attack, but rather as a suggestion. Instead of only fighting against releases or doxxing, I think you should also put more effort into fighting racism and antisemitism. Even if, from my perspective, Israel is committing genocide, that does not give anyone the right to make jokes about it. What kind of owner uses the N-word within the STAR WARS Genre community? Seriously? It may be that your prices are justified FROM YOUR PERSPECTIVE. Of course, I know how expensive things like morphs can be. But selling old things — really old things, such as the Kessel map or the Coruscant map — for $20–30 USD or similar prices is not fair, in my opinion. And again, why not adjust your prices more closely to the market? For example, the Batuu map for $10 USD. These maps simply are not worth that much anymore. Price reductions because of releases and so on — the way these maps are priced is honestly ridiculous. With the morphs, it is somewhat more understandable. Of course, it is expensive if someone wants custom morphs. But, for example, selling a morph pack for $100 USD even though it has already been released multiple times is not fair, in my opinion. If it had never been released, I could understand that price being fair. You are selling things that are old and have already been available or released for years at the same price, even though some of them have been released for more than four years.Free -
