The Ranger is offered in only two cab styles: regular and SuperCab. The regular cab comes with either a 6- or 7-foot cargo bed. The SuperCab comes with only a 6-foot bed. Four trim levels are offered: XL, XLT, Sport and FX4, which is geared toward off-roaders.
New for 2009
Ford didn’t add anything for 2009, but the automaker did kill a few features. The 3.0-liter V-6 engine was dropped, as was the 4×4 regular cab. The only other changes are packaging revisions: A Class III trailer hitch is standard on all V-6 models, and Sirius Satellite Radio is standard on FX4 and Sport models.
Exterior
The Ranger’s outward appearance hasn’t changed much since 1998, other than minor hood and bumper updates for 2004. The Ranger remains more of a compact pickup.

Interior
The Ranger interior is bare-bones basic, with few frills. Leather seating is available whether you get the 60/40-split bench seat or the bucket seats, and there’s an available Pioneer sound system with seven speakers (SuperCab only). The FX4 and Sport pay the most attention to style, with eye-catching gauges and a rugged appearance.

The Battle of the Somme (French: Bataille de la Somme; German: Schlacht an der Somme), also known as the Somme offensive, was a battle of the First World War fought by the armies of the British Empire and the French Republic against the German Empire. It took place between 1 July and 18 November 1916 on both sides of the upper reaches of the river Somme in France. The battle was intended to hasten a victory for the Allies. More than three million men fought in the battle, of whom more than one million were either wounded or killed, making it one of the deadliest battles in human history. It illustrated the deadly potential of mechanized warfare that began in the mid-19th century.
The French and British had planned an offensive on the Somme during the Chantilly Conference in December 1915. The Allies agreed upon a strategy of combined offensives against the Central Powers in 1916 by the French, Russian, British and Italian armies, with the Somme offensive as the Franco-British contribution. The French army was to undertake the main part of the Somme offensive, supported on the northern flank by the Fourth Army of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF). When the Imperial German Army began the Battle of Verdun on the Meuse on 21 February 1916, French commanders diverted many of the divisions intended for the Somme and the "supporting" attack by the British became the principal effort. British forces comprised a mixture of wartime volunteers from the Territorial Force and Kitchener's Army with the remains of the pre-war army.
